- Current State Assessment and Health Check
Are you considering an upgrade? Having problems and want to know what the cause is and as well as a way to resolve it? Not sure what state your environment is in? SQLHA evaluates your current environment holistically based on proven methodologies to let you know what is going on. We also give you our actionable recommendations to improve things in a comprehensive document.
- Design and Architect
SQLHA has helped to design SQL Server implementations for customers that range from small to large. Whether your needs are a simple single server deployment or you are looking to consolidate, virtualize, or maximize your availability, SQLHA can help you achieve your goals. We also approach this holistically, realizing that we’re not just dealing with SQL Server – other aspects of design such as your disk subsystem and disaster recovery come into play.
- Pilot and Test
Taking the step from design into production is crucial in a mission-critical environment. The bridge is testing. Without testing, you may run into unforseen problems down the road. SQLHA provides services for pilot environment setup and testing, SQL Server performance tuning, baselining, and benchmarking, and project management.
- Implement and Deploy
Going into production and then becoming “live” is a big step for any deployment. It requires careful planning and documentation in addition to the actual work to get SQL Server up and running. SQLHA can assist you in that process to provide expertise and peace of mind. Having an expert on hand or available remotely with a broad view of SQL’s role in the enterprise and architecturally can reduce risk and increase the likelihood of a successful deployment.
- Manage and Maintain
Once your SQL Server environment is up and running, you want it to remain healthy to ensure it continues to remain optimal. Without the proper care and feeding, your SQL Server deployments can suffer when it comes to availability and performance, not to mention capacity if things were not done properly. SQLHA can partner with you long term to do periodic checkups on your systems to see if they are healthy, or they need a prescription for corrective maintenance.

Benchmark/baseline performance from the start and continue to do it throughout a solution’s lifecycle. Usage (such as the number of users, which adds load) will change over time and you should be able to understand what “normal” looks like to anticipate problems as well as keep track of usage for future capacity planning.
